The Gift of Motherhood

"The time of childbearing is very brief and mine may soon be over. To usher new life into the world, to impact it for Him, to leave a legacy, to imprint another human being, and in some way, continue speaking to the world after I am gone, is a gift. A gift so many take for granted. A gift I take for granted. A gift that will one day be revoked."

Life is a Gift!

This is so true.  It made me cry...
This last weekend Colin and I were speaking at the Above Rubies Family Retreat in Louisiana. A lovely family with eight children organized the retreat. They confessed they could never have done it without their children who all worked so hard to make it happen. The whole family led the worship and played their instruments, and one of their sons fasted one meal a day for many months to pray for the retreat.

Just before we all left, the father asked his family to stand up with him and his wife. He then began to share how that after they had four children they had much pressure from their parents and friends in the church to not to have any more children. He confessed how if he had listened to them they would not have their last four beautiful children. And he asked them to walk away.

He then shared how that when they had their daughter, that once again parents and friends urged them to stop having more children. "Now that you have your daughter, you don't need any more," they persisted. By this time the father was weeping as he asked his beautiful daughter to walk away.

This couple have always been very interested in missions. However, many missions demand a contact to be signed that they will not have any children, or at least not more than two children. If they had gone ahead with their Missions vision they would not have their third son and the father asked him to walk away.

At the beginning of their marriage, this father didn't want any children. Because of the indoctrination of his professors at college regarding the zero population growth he was convinced that you shouldn't bring children into the world. However, his wife longed for children and eventually God opened His eyes to His truth. If he had listened to his professors and the indoctrination that is prevalent today, he would not have had any children and he asked his two oldest sons to walk away.

The husband and wife were left standing together as the father continued to weep. The impact of watching their children gradually leave them was incredible. They nearly missed the enormous blessing of their eight children who are growing up in the ways of God, who shine with the glory of the Lord, and who are now helping them in the work of the Lord as they minister together as a family. Satan didn't win this victory, but he wins in thousands of Christian families all over this country.

May God save His people from deception.

For Mamas

by Christiana Moss

My willingness to carry life is a revenge -
the antidote,
the great rebuttal of every murder,
every abortion,
and every genocide.

I sustain humanity -
deep inside of me life grows;
I am death’s opposition.

I have pushed back the hand of darkness today
I have caused there to be a weakening tremor among the ranks
of those set on earth's destruction.

Today -
a vibration that calls angels to attention
echoed throughout time;
our laughter threatened hell today.

I dine with the greats of God’s army -
I make their meals,
I tie their shoes.

I walk with greatness,
and when they were tired,
I carried them.

I’ve poured myself out for the cause today.

It’s finally quiet,
but life stirs inside of me -
gaining strength.
The pulse of life
sends a constant reminder to both good and evil
that I’ve yielded myself to heaven
and now carry its dream.

No angel
has ever had such a privilege
nor any man.

I’m humbled by the honor;
I am great with destiny -
I birth the freedom fighters.

In the great war
I am the leader of the underground resistance.
I smile at the disguise of my troops,
surrounded by a host of warriors.
Destiny swirling - invisible yet tangible
and the anointing to alter history.

Our footsteps make our land for conquest,
we move undetected throughout the common places.

Today -
I was the barrier between evil and innocence.
I was a gatekeeper,
watching over the hope of mankind,
and no intruder trespassed.

There’s not an hour in the day or night
when I turn from my post.
The fierceness of my love is unmatched on the earth.
And because I smile instead of frown,
the world will know the power of grace.

Hope has feet -
it will run to the corners of the earth
because I stood up against destruction.

I am a woman
I am a mother.
I’m the keeper and sustainer of life
here on earth.

Heaven stands in honour of my mission.
No one else can carry my call.

I’m the daughter of Eve,
and Eve has been redeemed.

I am the opposition of death;
I am a woman.

Book Review: The Breath of Dawn

This was my first time reading a book by Kristen Heitzman. She is an excellent author, able to weave multiple scenarios to build the story. As you read through, the plot thickens, more characters enter the scene and it builds to a crescendo pulling you into that life. It is hard to put down.
Like every other current inspirational book though, it involves violence. Once again creating & feeding a reader's appetite for bloodshed ... no wonder there are real life scenarios like the Colorado theatre and Newtown. Christians, we need to stand up and be different: a light in this world. When we read, let us feed on The Word of God. When we write let us write of beauty & glory.

"Finally. brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Philippians 4:8

Happy New Year -- Welcome 2013 !

Beautiful Christian words for Auld Lang Syne........Love.

*All Glory Be to Christ *

Should nothing of our efforts stand
No legacy survive
Unless the Lord does raise the house
In vain its builders strive

To you who boast tomorrow's gain
Tell me what is your life
A mist that vanishes at dawn
All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our king!
All glory be to Christ!
His rule and reign will ever sing
All glory be to Christ!

His will be done
His kingdom come
On earth as is above
Who is Himself our daily bread
Praise Him the Lord of love

Let living water satisfy
The thirsty without price
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our king!
All glory be to Christ!
His rule and reign will ever sing
All glory be to Christ!

When on the day the great I Am
The faithful and the true
The Lamb who was for sinners slain
Is making all things new

Behold our God shall live with us
And be our steadfast light
And we shall ere his people be
All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our king!
All glory be to Christ!
His rule and reign will ever sing
All glory be to Christ!'s%20kaleidoscope/

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 122:5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces
