KFC Anyone?

Brayden came up with this acroustic: KFC standing for Klassen's Fabulous Chicken.

If you or anyone you know needs fabulous chicken for your family freezer please give us a call. Of our 1000 broilers, we only have about 250 left to pre-sell. Delivery will be mid-July.

Farm Auction

Ken & Corbyn are at the farm auction in MB. today. That really make this move seem imminent.

And we're waiting again - this time for our buyers house to sell ...

All purchases made at the auction are by faith that this is where God indeed would have us build a new farm family vision into the future.

The rest of us are holding down the fort at this end...taking good care of our KFC.

Conditional Offer Signed

We've come to an agreement - a sale conditional to the sale of the buyer's home.

Our pending move is five weeks away, August 1, 2008. Unless their house doesn't sell quickly - in which case they have 3 weeks from when the conditions are removed (so that we have at least three weeks to pack up the family & farm, & train the new owners how to operate the business etc.).

It'll be a busy here yet - and we thought it was busy all along! Ha!

The Latest Word

We've heard through the realtors that our buyers are going to the bank to try to get more money to breach the distance between their offer & our counter offer.

This brings back a little breath of hope for the sale to yet go through.

Marvelous Peace

It's two days since our counter offer was rejected. We've had no further word.

Yet ... as I reflected on the atmosphere among us all - (we really do anticipate that move to MB and still are all convinced that this is really God's will for us ... in His time ) - I just had to marvel at the peace we all feel all the time regarding the whole situation.

It's really unexplainable.

It's really God.

... and then this verse came to mind to reinforce that thought:

Philippians 4:7
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

His peace Is beyond understanding. Thank you, Jesus!

Results?

Our counter offer was not accepted by the buyers in spite of the fact that we lowered our price as much as possible.

They may yet get back to us with another offer.

This makes things difficult as you can likely well imagine ...

Please continue to pray for us. We are thankful for the peace, patience, wisdom and faith that God is graciously granting through these days of waiting.

Response Due

Just to let you know, the buyers have until 7:30 PM this evening to respond to our counter offer.

We'll keep you posted...

We Have An Offer!

We've received an official offer - way low plus additional inclusions?!

We countered.

We wait ... again.

Shall We be Encouraged?

There has not been much to report, so I have not posted. However, today a quick visit from my folks divulged a small bit of encouragement if we choose to take it that way ...

My father regularly has coffee with the realtor that is representing our potential buyers - so Dad shared what he "knew" with us. I in turn will share it with you ...

It sounds like we can expect a counter offer (no surprise, we've been expecting that and are prepared to respond when that time comes).

So, what do you think, shall we be encouraged with such an ever so small bit of "encouragement" received in such a round about sort of way????

I think it does encourage us that things are still "in the works" at least ... though we've come to the point of wondering where this was all going.

Mega hurtz

Brayden figures "mega hurtz" should have never been invented!

While trying to position cement blocks on which to place a fan for the broiler chicks in the chicken koop he managed to his thumb crushed between two that fell together.

His thumb nail is all blue - and as we found out after an x-ray, the tip of the bone is broken off - so he's splinted & wrapped for a few weeks. Out of commission for many of his regular tasks.

A little shuffle of responsibilities and some compensation on everyone's part will allow him some necessary time to recuperate. Isn't it wonderful how God created our bodies to mend themselves?

It has been a blessing to see him hold up under pressure with a very sweet attitude, considerate and uncomplaining.

To God be the glory!

Makin' Hay While the Sun Shines

Oh, not us, we're not making hay - though we are occupying until God leads otherwise - but our potential buyers are makin' hay so to speak. They sent word that while they wait for FCC to make up their mind, they're also checking with the bank.

...and while they wait on that, they're busy taking weekend pleasure excursions - because in August they'll be "busy farming".

Now that's positive thinking. Excellent forethought. Wise planning ...

In a nutshell, "making hay while the sun shines" wouldn't you say?

Waiting

We're still in our waiting period ...

But, like our realtor told someone today "We've got two fish ..."

God's Will. God's Way. God's Time.

For God's Glory!

Isaiah 55:8
" For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD."

Big Wheels Turn Slowly

FCC - Farm Credit Corporation is a big wheel. As wheels go - the big ones turn slowly - that's physics right?

But when they get moving they cover a lot of ground.

Our potential buyers are anxiously waiting word from FCC as well. We know it all in God's capable hands and His timing is perfect.

Beauty in Spring

Our cherry orchard in full bloom ...

The bees are busy ...

Thanks to Corbyn for capturing this in picture!
